The Test

Does this make humanity more capable and less dependent?

Every venture, every feature, every decision gets tested against this question.

We want to share our fire with every person we can.

Where We're Focused Next

Three problems we're working on right now.

These are the first areas where we believe we can make a real difference. The list will grow as the studio matures.

01

The cost of living outpaces wages.

Housing, healthcare, education — the basics keep climbing while paychecks stay flat. People work harder and fall further behind.

02

Financial products are designed to extract.

Most financial tools optimize for the institution, not the individual. Fees hide in fine print, and complexity is a feature, not a bug.

03

Community has fragmented.

People are more connected than ever and more isolated than ever. The structures that used to hold communities together have eroded.

These are the problems. The products are how we answer them.

Principles

How we build.

14 commitments that shape every venture, feature, and decision we make.

01

No system succeeds without morality.

Capitalism, socialism, and every system in between are tools — not solutions. No system, however well-designed, can succeed without a moral foundation beneath it.

02

Don’t take advantage of people.

No hidden fees. No dark patterns. No tricks. If the business model requires deceiving the customer, the business model is wrong.

03

Add meaning, don’t extract it.

Every dollar of revenue should come from something we actually built for you — not from selling your attention or your data.

04

Strengthen people, not their dependence on us.

The goal is to make you stronger, not to make you need us. If you keep paying, it should be because the value keeps growing — not because you're stuck.

05

Build for families, communities, and dignity.

For the actual life someone is trying to hold together. Resilience isn't just individual — it's families, neighborhoods, and local institutions getting stronger together.

06

Solve from first principles.

Start from the real problem. Build the real answer. No tradition, institution, or ideology gets a free pass.

07

Think holistically.

A financial problem is also a stress problem is also a family problem. Don't engineer away friction before understanding what it teaches.

08

Ship every week.

A prototype every week. Invest in what works. Kill what doesn't. Ideas don't count until they've been tested.

09

Simple and clear.

If we can't explain it in plain language, it isn't ready. Never speak louder than the work warrants.

10

Your word is your contract.

No exceptions. To deceive another is to forfeit your standing.

11

Built for the next generation.

Does this enable a healthier world for our children? Every venture gets tested against this question. If the answer is no, we don't ship it.

12

Preserve dignity.

There will always be winners and losers. But cruelty is a choice, and it is never necessary.

13

Foundation before growth.

Help people build a foundation first. Growth means nothing without ground to stand on.

14

Build in public.

What we ship, what we learn, what we get wrong. The work speaks for itself.
